12. 2 Kings/2 Chronicles

God Blesses Loyalty

Israel rejected God, and Assyria invaded, destroying their country. God sent the prophets Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah, but the people ignored their warnings. Judah remained a nation for 140 years before it fell to an invasion from Babylon.

A note from your Bible study mentor –

At this time, Israel has fallen before a conquering nation and her people taken away. Hezekiah did not have a strong enough influence to keep his nation, Judah, from following Israel. Now they have been invaded, and the best of her people carried away to Babylon and other countries ruled by Babylon.

In the next lesson, you will learn about one young man, Daniel, who was taken captive and what his life was like.
