44. John Pt.2

The True Shepherd

In the second part of the Gospel of John, Jesus devoted time to explain how He was the true, good shepherd who cared for His sheep. This close relationship would mark the difference between His disciples and all other disciples  They would be so like Him that they would be treated as He was, but they were not to worry for He promised them an abundant life with the Holy Spirit being their teacher when He was gone.                                            For your convenience – Bible online

A note from your Bible study mentor –

Jesus had gone back to heaven and left his disciples to be witnesses of Him. The Book of Acts recorded the birth of the church. The early church drew lots of attention and grew rapidly, but was it well received by the Jewish church leaders?

It seemed the average person on the street watched with amazement but thought carefully before joining them. I wonder why?
