45. Acts Pt.1

Birth of Christianity

At the beginning of the book of Acts, before Jesus Christ ascended into heaven, He instructed His followers to wait in Jerusalem to be baptized with the Holy Spirit.  This baptism would empower the believers, and they would be His witnesses.  This was the birth of Christianity. Luke, the physician, is the author of this book.  Compare Luke 1:1-4 with Acts 1:1-3.                           For your convenienceBible online

A note from your Bible study mentor –

This is a big day! You are now three-fourths of the way through this study of the Bible. Awesome! You have accomplished much. I hope you are as proud of you as I am.

Lots of action was recorded in the remainder of this book of Acts. There was trouble between Paul and Barnabas. Paul and Silas got arrested for preaching and spend the night in jail. During the night, they are freed when an earthquake broke open the doors.

Apparently, Paul could be long-winded. A young man, sitting in an open window, fell asleep listening to Paul and fell out the third-floor window. What happened to him?

Riot in Ephesus. A plot to kill Paul. Paul was bitten by a deadly snake.

Lots of action to keep you interested.
