13. Daniel

Daniel, Captive in Babylon

Daniel, a young Hebrew man, was captured when the Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar, invaded Judah. Daniel had visions for that time, as well as, for the future. The book of Daniel is part history and part prophecy. This study does not attempt to interpret his visions or their meanings. That is for another in-depth study.

A note from your Bible study mentor –

Before Israel was destroyed, God sent prophets to warn them of impending disaster if they refused to repent. Sometimes He used a prophet’s personal life as an object lesson as He did with Hosea. He was told to marry a prostitute.

Another prophet was reluctant to proclaim God’s message; he tried to run away.

I hope you enjoy learning from these prophets as you broaden your knowledge of the Bible.
