53. Philippians

All For Christ

In Philippians, Paul writes emphasized the humility of Christ and urged the believers to be like Christ.  Although Paul had much to brag about, he counted all his accomplishments as worthless compared to his walk with Jesus Christ.  He encouraged them to take all their cares to the Lord in prayer, and the peace of God would sustain them.

A note from your Bible study mentor –

How much of Christian faith is based on tradition today? On what are believers to base their faith? It seems the church at Colossae had mixed their faith with some traditions. In this letter to the Colossians, Paul encouraged them to see the preeminence of Christ and cautioned them to avoid falling back into legalism and tradition.
